profound persistent systemic inflammatory syndrome resembling polymyalgia rheumatica without CPK elevation. Transient positive RF in setting of massive inflammatory state (ESR >100 and CRP>300); Negative ANA. Steroid responsive but relapsed after initial and subsequent 2 month steroid regimens.
