Symptom narrative

I was preparing to draw up the Varicella vaccine. I had the needle on the diluent. I grabbed the vial on the counter and threw it in the bin. I thought I had thrown the varicella vaccine vial away with the vaccine still inside. I got out another varicella vaccine, put the diluent into the vial. I administered the vaccine to the patient. It wasn't until after the patient left that I discovered I had made an error.
