Child here with mother to receive immunizations for 7th grade entry. Mom elected for child to receive TDaP and HPV dose #1 in series. Immunizations were given without difficulty and child tolerated. Parent and child were escorted to waiting area to check out and get a copy of immunization record for school. While waiting, public health office assistant yelled the need for a nurse up front and stated child had passed out. Child was standing with mother when nurses arrived on scene. Child and mother were escorted to clinic room and child was laid down and vital signs obtained: BP 104/72, HR 69, Temp 97.9, O2 Sat 98% on RA. Child stated she had not eaten anything today and was given peanut butter and crackers and water. Nurses monitored child for 15 minutes. Child had no visible injuries and color returned to normal when she was escorted back to the front to continue checking out.
