Symptom narrative

Patient reported headache, "body hurting", right thigh swelling with redness, warmth, and tenderness, loss of appetite, low grade fever. Mom gave her Benadryl to help with the swelling and ibuprofen for her pain and fever. She was taken to the ER at 8:00 pm the evening of 9/10. Temperature at that time was 99.4. Swelling was measured at 3.5" wide x 3" tall. She was given prescriptions for prednisolone 6.5 mL po bid for 5 days and cephalexin 10 mL po bid for 10 days. Mom called office on 9/11 to inform us of the event, ER record obtained. Today mom reports that the swelling has reduced to 2" wide x 1/5" tall today, is no longer tender, not warm or red colored. Mom is continuing to give the antibiotics but since the swelling has reduced, she has stopped the prednisolone.
