Symptom narrative

4 days following immunization I developed marked disequilibrium. I was admitted to r/o stroke. All, extensive studies were normal. Vestibular testing was not done. My symptoms have disappeared on Prednisone, prescribed for probable labyrinthitis. My daughter-in-law, a neurologist, described an older patient she saw as an inpatient with the same sequence of events. Also, her brother, age 60, developed marked vertigo several days following his booster. Caloric studies showed total dysfunction unilaterally. Finally, her aunt, recently experienced the exact same sequence, including abnormal vestibular testing. So, 4 cases of transient labyrinthitis/vestibular nerve dysfunction following immunization. None of us want to do anything to provide ammunition. However, not knowing about this vaccine risk, I underwent an expensive and uncomfortable series of studies that were probably not required. If 3 cases have occurred in our relatively small family, plus a 4th unrelated, I assume that the problem is widespread.
