Lab data

36-year-old male with no significant medical history presents to cardiology clinic after recent hospitalization for chest pain and myocarditis. Patient had acute onset chest pain after running about 1 month ago. Thought that his pain was due to cold weather, but it lasted several hours. Eventually prompted emergency room visit where his troponin was found to be elevated. Transferred to outside facility due to concern for acute coronary syndrome. Troponin trended from 500 to greater than 4000. He underwent left heart catheterization that showed no significant coronary disease. Treated for presumed myocarditis with carvedilol and discharged home. Echocardiogram performed during that admission was within normal limits. He presents today for further follow-up and ongoing myocarditis care. For the stroke multiple tiny millimetric foci of cortical and subcortical restricted diffusion in the right cerebral hemisphere involving the right caudate of head and the right posterior temporal and partial lobe, likely tiny acute infarcts
