Patient received vaccines and was talking about feeling faint after immunizations given. RN elevated patients feet, grabbed cool rags, and talked with patient. Patient bowed head and had syncope episode. Eyes were open but not responding for approximately 45 seconds. Pulse was present and patient was pale and clammy. Patient woke back up confused where she was immediately but quickly reoriented and said ?I think I passed out.? Patient was observed for 30 minutes and had one more episode of bowing head but never stoppped responding this time just delayed her response by a 5-10 seconds. Patient recovered color and felt normal before leaving. RN counseled patient that it?s a known side effect that can happen but that it would be good to let her pcp and providers know next time she?s with them and remember she?s sensitive to this for next immunization round. She said this was the 4th time this has happened to her over the years
