Symptom narrative

I received the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 vaccine while serving as a forward member. At the time of vaccination, I experienced only mild symptoms immediately afterward. I had not menstruated for approximately ten years due to use of the Mirena IUD. Approximately two weeks after receiving the vaccine, I developed severe abdominal cramping and experienced extreme menstrual bleeding with passage of blood clots approximately the size of a sticky note. I sought evaluation from my healthcare provider at that time. Since then, I have continued to report persistent and unusual pelvic floor pain to multiple providers. Most recently, diagnostic evaluation revealed a mass approximately the size of a golf ball located above my uterus.

Lab data

In 2021, following the episode of severe bleeding, a pregnancy test was performed to rule out miscarriage (negative). In September 2025, pelvic ultrasound and CT scan with contrast dye were performed, which identified a mass approximately the size of a golf ball located above the uterus.
