Symptom narrative

Pt received DTaP vaccine (Infanrix) in R thigh and Varivax in L thigh on 9/23/25 (3d ago). The next day he was noted to have an area of redness at the vaccination site. This area enlarged, and by yesterday it felt firm and hot to the touch, with deepening erythema. No fevers, though he felt slightly warm to the touch (but forehead thermometer read 97.1F at that time). He has been active and playful and has not been limping. He doesn't like mom touching his leg but no apparent pain with activities or movement of leg. Otherwise well, normal PO intake, no vomiting or diarrhea. No nasal congestion or cough. Note that After MMR vaccine at age 12 mos. he also had redness, along with some blistering, at the affected thigh.
