red, warm, swollen harden area of arm (patient states the area was round the size of a grapefruit), this occured the night after the shot was given and she called the next day in the afternoon. I instructed the patient to try ice pack every 20 minutes and take antihistamine (she had benadryl) to see if the swelling went down. Checked on the patient the next day and there was improvement with the antihistamine and ice pack, she would continue with it and let me know if there were any additional problems. Checked on the patient again the following day and when she didn't take the benadryl the swelling begin to reappear. Told patient to go to urgent care for rx therapy or contact primary care dr on monday for further assistance and I let her know I would report the reaction
