Symptom narrative

patient received injection in left deltoid by technician. Immediately after injection patient's arm formed a small lump at site of injection and grew to rough the size of a half-dollar by the time the pharmacist made it to vaccination room. Patient reported mild pain at site of injection but no difficulty breathing, dizziness or facial swelling. Patient was encouraged to seek medical attention, ambulance was not called due to patient having a driver and not reporting any life threatening side effects. Patient went to walk in to be seen by doctor who told him that the injection "hit a blood vessel" causing the swelling lump. Patient was prescribed mild pain killers and reported that the lump was gone by the time he left the clinic. Patient did not report any lasting effects to us.
