Symptom narrative

Child (12 y.o. male) had mild syncope episode after receiving shots (TDaP, Meningococcal ACWY, and HPV) on 10/02/2023 at approximately 1:45pm with no past history of reactions to vaccines. He came around on his own before interventions could be taken. Patient was pale, dizzy, and nauseous. He was laid down, given water and a snack and cool rag. Blood pressure and heart rate were monitored for 15-20 min post syncope episode. Patient blood pressures/heart rate were as followed: within 2 minutes of reaction (110/68, 58bpm), 8 min post reaction (118/76, 63pm), 15min post reaction (122/80, 66bpm, 98% O2 saturation, 16 respirations). Patient's color returned and vitals stabilized. Patient could respond to provider's questions. Patient was educated and given information on the HPV vaccine and given instructions to continue eating and hydrating and go to urgent care if any worsening symptoms occur. Child stable on departure.
