Symptom narrative

pt says a couple of days after the vaccine she had achiness, headache and felt nauseated. By that night below the injection site above the elbow, she developed a grapefruit size area of inflammation. It was hot to the touch and was very painful. She went to the pharmacy and was told it was not a normal reaction and to use cortisone cream which did not help. By the next day it was very red and itchy. Went back to the pharmacy and was told it needed to be reported. It is now 5 days post vaccine and the arm is still very tender and the swelling has gone down some but it it still red. She feels like it is finally getting better as it is no longer itching.
