Upon intramuscular injection of the COVID19 vaccine into the left deltoid, there was a rush of blood at the site of injection. The blood stopped after the vaccine administrator applied pressure with cotton, and blood was wiped with alcohol wipes. There was a welt that developed soon after the bleeding, underneath the skin. The welt at first increased in size. The patient's daughter who was with her at the time was translating for her. When asked if the patient experienced any symptoms, such as lightheadedness or nausea, the patient said no. The vaccine administrator and health professionals at the clinic monitored the patient and the size of the welt. Over time, as ice was put on the site of injection, the welt started to decrease in size very gradually. About 10 minutes later, the welt was minimal but still visible, and the patient proceeded to receive a flu vaccine on the right arm by a different vaccine administrator.
