The patient was administered a vaccine in error. She received the Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, although she was already immune and was supposed to receive the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine instead. When the patient expressed concern about receiving the correct vaccine, her concerns were dismissed by the person administering it. Following vaccination, the patient developed fever up to 102°F, body aches, sweating, and shortness of breath, requiring the use of an inhaler. These symptoms lasted for approximately two days before resolving. The incident resulted in a delay in receiving the required MMR vaccine and unnecessary vaccination with Varicella.
