Symptom narrative

9 days post injection, left thigh formed hard, reddened, and swollen area around injection site. Over the course of 8 ours it more than doubled in size, became painful to the touch and harder. She had a low grade fever of 100.2 so with her history of febrile seizures we took her to urgent care to be examined. At Urgent Care, the physician who saw her said her thigh looked to have an abscess and needed an ultrasound to confirm and probably needed to be drained. We then went to the emergency room at another hospital. We waited for 5 hours to be seen and was told by the physician that it was probably an abscess caused by the vaccine but could not offer the ultrasound for at least another 6 hours, and she said it was unlikely it needed to be drained, so they sent us home with antibiotics (Bactrim). The abscess took 3-4 weeks to fully resolve and she had fevers on and off during that time causing one febrile seizure.
