Vasovagal syncope: Within a few minutes of receiving the vaccines I passed out at the pharmacy. I felt gnawing sensation in my upper stomach similar to heartburn and within 1 minute a heat spread through my body and I had a weird, metallic toast in my mouth. I woke up on the ground where I was being assessed by an EMT who was off duty piking up a prescription for his son. BP was checked while I was on the floor and was elevated (SBP>140 and DBP>90). Heart rate was also elevated (>120). EMTs were called where vitals were as normal as they could be under the circumstance (BP and HR still elevated per ECG). After sitting for almost 25 minutes I had someone pick me up to drive me home as I did not feel comfortable driving but not ill enough to deem a hospital visit. Total time from vaccination to departure from store was approximately 45 to 60 minutes. To note, I have taken both vaccines in the same manner in previous years with no issue.
