13 year old female, experienced syncope while her parents were making her follow-up appointment for immunizations. She had just received Tdap and Meningococcal in her left deltoid and HPV in her right. I did not witness her fall but parents and staff reported she hit her head on the ground. What I visualized was her mom holding her on the floor, dad crouched near and the client looking pale but mostly alert. I explained since she hit her head she needs to be evaluated by her provider immediately. Parents state they are ?in-between providers? so I said they will have to go to the emergency room or prompt care but she needs to be seen by a doctor. They expressed understanding and denied any questions. Client was sipping water, conscious and communicating during this so I assisted her into their family?s vehicle via wheelchair with parents verbalized intentions of getting her evaluated at the ER.
