Syncope

Symptom narrative

Patient experienced a syncopal episode following vaccine administration while transitioning from lying to sitting up during physical examination. Duration of episode was several seconds. Patient was laid back down on exam table, pulse checked and was normal, patient opened eyes and began speaking clearly. Patient continued to rest on table lying down, additional staff called into room to monitor patient, and gather vitals. Vitals were normal. Neuro exam completed and was unremarkable. Patient continued to be evaluated in office for 10 more minutes, return to baseline observed. Patient able to leave office safely under her own power. Precautions for seeking additional care provided.
