Symptom narrative

Shoulder injury related to the Hep B vaccine administration. Patient felt extreme pain in the shoulder about 2 days after receiving the vaccine. Described the pain as worsening with arm every movement and developed stiffness around the shoulder joint. Swelling and redness were also present in the shoulder region. Patient has take OTC pain relievers (i.e., Tylenol) to reduce the pain in his shoulder. They've also tried using their right arm (where vaccine was administered) as little as possible to avoid pain and stiffness. They started going to physical therapy to regain the strength back in the shoulder as well as improve their range of motion. Since they've started on Tylenol, the pain is temporarily relieved for a few hours in the day but comes back, and since starting physical therapy, their range of motion is starting to improve. Time of full recovery is estimated to be about 4-6 weeks with continued physical therapy and pain management.
