Symptom narrative

The patient was here for a physical exam. Provider ordered the egg free flu vaccine, flublok. We do not have the egg free available, it has to be ordered in. The patient has an egg allergy, but there is a CDC letter that says it is ok to give the patients with egg allergies the regular flu vaccine. Nurse ordered the fluad per protocol and gave it . Nursing told the provider about this . Nursing called the patient that afternoon to make sure she was feeling ok, and told her that in the future the flublok will have to be ordered in if that is what the patient wants. The patient was ok with this and will watch for any adverse reaction.
