Symptom narrative

Our pharmacy just received a call from a patient who received a flu shot (only) on 9/10/25. Our pharmacy technician, spoke to the patient first, then she put the patient on hold, and I spoke to the patient directly. The patient relayed the same information to both the technician and the pharmcist. The patient stated that she since receiving the shot, her arm has remained very sore. She further explained that she has been unable to lift her arm since the day she received the shot. She then told me that she went to her doctor, who told her the shot was "given too high". When I asked how the doctor verified that (i.e. was this statement made based on bandaid placement, visual of the blood or puncture site), she said that "the doctor could not see anything," but made this assumption based on symptoms. She further stated that "the shot was injected into something it shouldn't have been injected to and that caused her to tear her rotator cuff and the imaging I've received showed this" She went on to state that she wants "Pharmacy to cover my medical expenses for this."
