Parents ran some errands after his doctor's appointment. He was sitting in his car seat while mom made him a bottle and she reports that his breathing "didn't sound right". She says he was gasping for air. She picked him up out of the car seat, his face was pale and body went completely limp. This lasted maybe a minute then he started "crying while continuing to breathe funny in between cries". They drove down the street to the ER.
Candida diaper rash diagnosed same day and prescribed Nystatin. He hadn't started the Nystatin when even occurred.

Checked into the ER at 5:13pm on 10/31/25. Mom states he wasn't back to baseline when they got there. Vitals were obtained and found to be normal. Temperature 98.3 rectal, HR 154, RR 50, O2 saturation 99% on room air. Provider saw the patient at 5:48pm. By that time he had returned to baseline per mother. Repeat vitals were: temperature 98.1 rectal, HR 141, RR 48 and oxygen saturation 98% on room air. Follow up with primary care provider as a recheck on 11/7/25. No further symptoms noted.
