Patient had received an influenza vaccine at his assisted living facility on 10/21/2025. His daughter did not know this and scheduled him for an appointment at our pharmacy. Medicare did not flag the claim as a duplicate so we administered the vaccine. The daughter called back after returning him to the facility to ask why we didn't know he had already received the vaccine. It is not policy to check the vaccine registry for influenza vaccines if the insurance accepts the claim. The patient is currently feeling fine and not experiencing any side effects.
