Nov 7 - I noticed the evening that I received the vaccine it hurt a lot with pain being an 8/10 in my shoulder. I took acetaminophen and went to bed. I was able to sleep through the night. I woke in the morning and my arm was sore but the pain was manageable alternating acetaminophen and ibuprofen. The next couple of days it was pretty sore and I was unable to completely use my arm but it was manageable. Monday, November 10th I was very tired and took up a nap in the afternoon and when I woke up the shoulder was in a lot of pain and I was having a difficult time using that arm at all. On Tuesday, November 11th I called the doctors office where it was administered and they told me to just monitor it. That night the paint was so bad a night I was unable to lay in bed and had to sit up in a chair with my arm supported and taking as much acetaminophen and ibuprofen as recommended, alternating between ice and heat. I was only able to get a few hours of sleep even that way because I kept waking up in pain. This continued for the next couple of days and on Thursday, November 13th before I called the doctor I looked at my arm once again and saw that the inner part of my arm was swollen, red, and warm to the touch. I called the doctor to tell them that and that I could not use my arm for anything because its too painful and they asked if I could come in and I said yes but then she said to send a picture through mychart instead. After seeing the picture she advised me to take 10 mg cetirizine during the day, 25-50 mg Benadryl at night, and prescribed triamcinolone cream .1% as needed (script says twice daily). I asked what I could do about the pain which was a level 8 at bedtime and she said hopefully that would help decrease the pain and to give it 48 hours. I started the allergy meds immediately but the pharmacy said they couldn't fill the cream until the next day. I was still in a lot of pain and unable to use my arm for a couple more days but redness and swelling improved by the next day. On 11/15 the pain was still there but I was able to sleep in my bed finally on waking up in pain a few times. During the day on 11/16 while standing for a long period of time my arm went number form shoulder to fingertips two different times and before bed I noticed there was some swelling on the outside of my arm. In the morning on 11/17 I contacted the doctor via mychart and let them know as well as the fact that I was experiencing dizziness (I believe this is the allergy combined with my Revlimid). They told me to continue to monitor and keep taking everything for at least a week or until my arm is resolved as long as I can handle the dizziness. As of today 11/18 my arm has continued to improve, I am able to hold light items in my hand again and have a little more mobility but still cannot lift it very high and need acetaminophen and ibuprofen for discomfort.

After phone calls to the facility and my chart communication - they chose to never see me in person and only spoke with me over the phone and MyChart with a picture of swelling one time.
