Patient came to pharmacy to disclose that her left arm is still in pain 1 month after receiving the first dose of Engerix-B. The entire arm started hurting a few days after vaccination. Patient complained she experienced pain even at rest, from weakness to sharp pain. Her pain level was 8 or 9 out of 10 in the beginning. The pain radiated down her palms. The pain can be localized in the center of the palms and felt like knife stabbing, especially when she spread of her fingers. In the beginning, the pain was the entire arm. In the past week or 2, pain is mostly in her forearm. Patient said she also had thyroid medication dose change during this period. She isn't sure if the dose change causes her hands to shake or it's from the vaccine. Lately, patient described her pain is around 4 to 5 out of 10 for most mornings, and 7 out of 10 on bad days. For the last 5 days, she said her pain is mild to no pain. She will see her provider in 1 week before she considers getting another dose of hepatitis B. Patient is also considering switching to Heplisav-B.
