Symptom narrative

Gullain Barre Syndrome. Vaccinated 11/3/25, developed bilateral lower extremity numbness and tingling 11/14/25, presented 11/17/25 to the emergency department. Exam consistent with GBS bilateral lower extremity weakness 4/5 diffusely with decreased light touch from the knees distally and absent reflexes. Started IVIG on 11/19 following LP. Worsening weakness on 11/20, upgraded to ICU stepdown.

Lab data

LP revealed protein 300, WBC 1, CSF glucose 91 otherwise unremarkable. MRI brain WOW with increased T2 FLAIR hyperintensity bilateral thalami symmetrically. MRI C spine WOW multilevel degenerative spondylosis with moderate canal narrowing at C2-C3 and C4-C5 levels.
