Suspected vaccination failure; I had Shingles a few weeks ago; I did not blister just scabbed up; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. On an unknown date, the patient received Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: Suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant), shingles (Verbatim: I had Shingles a few weeks ago) and scab (Verbatim: I did not blister just scabbed up). The patient was treated with antibiotics. The outcome of the vaccination failure, shingles and scab were not reported. It was unknown if the reporter considered the vaccination failure, shingles and scab to be related to Shingles vaccine. Patient had Shingles a few weeks ago and the doctor told that because patient had the vaccine patient should not get it as bad. Prescribed an antibiotic and patient did not blister just scabbed up. Patient had it on the left side of his/her face from patient's head down to my throat. Yes the pain the first few days was rough. Patient advice get the vaccine. The batch number was not provided, and we are unable to contact the reporter.
