Symptom narrative

Bell's Palsy/symptoms began- right eye and right mouth drooping, right eye cannot close fully; This is a spontaneous report received from a Consumer or other non HCP. A 65-year-old male patient received pneumococcal 20-val conj vac (dipht CRM197 protein) (PREVNAR 20), on 14Nov2025 at 11:45 as dose 1, single (Lot number: MG7423) at the age of 65 years, in left arm for immunisation, Device Lot Number: MG7423. The patient's relevant medical history included: "type 2 diabetes" (unspecified if ongoing). The patient had no known allergies. Concomitant medication(s) included: JANUMET [METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE;SITAGLIPTIN PHOSPHATE], start date: 30Jul2025. The following information was reported: BELL'S PALSY (medically significant) with onset 16Nov2025 at 08:00, outcome "not recovered", described as "Bell's Palsy/symptoms began- right eye and right mouth drooping, right eye cannot close fully". Therapeutic measures were taken as a result of bell's palsy. Clinical course: On 14Nov2025, patient took Prevnar 20 syringe. On 16Nov2025, the symptoms began- right eye and right mouth drooping, right eye cannot close fully. On 17Nov2025, patient got an appointment to see PCP, Dr. withheld, and she suspected that patient had Bell's Palsy. She ordered several tests to rule out Lyme Disease, Strokes, and Tumors. She also prescribed Amoxicillin (Lyme) and Valacyclovir (Bell's Palsy) for patient. On 18Nov2025, all the test results came in. They show that patient have no Lyme disease, neither strokes or brain tumors. So, Bell's Palsy diagnosis was confirmed. Dr. withheld added an additional medicine, Prednisone. Patient continue to take Valacyclovir, but stop Amoxicillin. On 19Nov2025, patient began taking Prednisone, also did acupuncture. patient reported that today was Day 6, and symptoms continue to worsen though.
