Symptom narrative

HPV vaccine was administered too high (into the subdeltoid bursa instead of the deltoid). Patient came to the pharmacy to discuss the HPV vaccine administered to her the previous day. She stated that when the vaccine was given she "heard a popping sound and felt an unusual sharp pain followed by excessive liquid drainage." Patient showed me the administration site (which i could still see as a bright red dot) and it was much too high on the arm.
