type 2 diabetes; prostate cancer; This spontaneous case was reported by a consumer and describes the occurrence of TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS (type 2 diabetes) and PROSTATE CANCER (prostate cancer) in a 79-year-old male patient who received SPIKEVAX NOS (SPIKEVAX NOS) for COVID-19 prophylaxis. No Medical History information was reported. On an unknown date, the patient received dose of SPIKEVAX NOS (SPIKEVAX NOS) (Intramuscular use) 1 dosage form. On an unknown date, the patient experienced TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS (type 2 diabetes) (seriousness criterion medically significant) and PROSTATE CANCER (prostate cancer) (seriousness criterion medically significant). At the time of the report, TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS (type 2 diabetes) and PROSTATE CANCER (prostate cancer) outcome was unknown. Concomitant medication was not provided. It was reported that a patient who had type 2 diabetes and prostate cancer, was seeking guidance on which Moderna COVID-19 vaccine he should choose. He mentioned that he had always been up to date with his vaccinations but had never faced a situation where he needed to choose between two versions before. Despite consulting several doctors and pharmacists, he said he had not received a satisfactory answer and emphasized the importance of understanding the advantages of each vaccine type for making an informed decision. It was unknown if the patient experienced any additional symptoms or events. Treatment medication was not reported.; Reporter's Comments: The age is a contributor for prostate cancer event. Due to lack of biological plausibility, the causality of the event prostatic cancer was assessed as not related to the vaccine. The benefit -risk relationship of product is not affected by this report.
