I received a Tdap vaccination in my left deltoid on November 26, 2024. Within hours of the injection, I noticed sudden weakness and stiffness specifically when extending my elbow (straightening the arm). The sensation and weakness were focused in the inner elbow crease area, not the shoulder. These symptoms began the same day as the injection and have persisted for approximately one year. There has been no numbness or tingling. The weakness is most noticeable with elbow extension but improves temporarily with strength training or lifting exercises. No other medical events occurred at the time, and these symptoms have remained localized to the same arm. I have reported this to multiple medical providers, who seemed baffled and provided no guidance. When I was doing some physical therapy exercises more targeted at my knees, I noticed that lifting weights (with arms) reduced the symptoms, but temporarily, because I haven't been lifting for a few months and the symptoms are back. I actually messaged the provider on December 24, 2024 about the issue, and they said to go to Family Medicine, which didn't seem specialized enough of a follow-up to me, so I did not do it. I think I may have a persistent, low-grade radial nerve irritation or neuropathy caused by improper injection.
