optic nerve stroke; acute macular neuro-retinopathy; visual abnormalities in his left eye; blurriness; flashing lights; defect in the field of vision; This is a spontaneous report received from a Consumer or other non HCP. A 47-year-old male patient received BNT162b2 omicron (lp.8.1) (COMIRNATY (2025-2026 FORMULA)), on 05Oct2025 as dose 1, 0.3 ml single (Lot number: MY9550) at the age of 47 years, in left arm for covid-19 immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history and concomitant medications were not reported. The following information was reported: ACUTE MACULAR NEURORETINOPATHY (medically significant) with onset Oct2025, outcome "unknown", described as "acute macular neuro-retinopathy"; VISION BLURRED (non-serious) with onset Oct2025, outcome "unknown", described as "blurriness"; VISUAL FIELD DEFECT (non-serious) with onset Oct2025, outcome "unknown", described as "defect in the field of vision"; PHOTOPSIA (non-serious) with onset Oct2025, outcome "unknown", described as "flashing lights"; OPTIC ISCHAEMIC NEUROPATHY (medically significant) with onset Oct2025, outcome "unknown", described as "optic nerve stroke"; VISUAL IMPAIRMENT (non-serious) with onset Oct2025, outcome "unknown", described as "visual abnormalities in his left eye". The events "optic nerve stroke", "acute macular neuro-retinopathy", "visual abnormalities in his left eye", "blurriness", "flashing lights" and "defect in the field of vision" required physician office visit. The patient underwent the following laboratory tests and procedures: testing: Unknown results. Clinical course: Caller said that shortly after receiving the product in early Oct2025, he developed ocular issues, clarified that according to the ophthalmologist either an optic nerve stroke or acute macular neuro-retinopathy. Stated that he previously reported this information and he has not heard anything back yet. Stated that he reported it sometime in Oct2025. Caller does not know the exact date her reported it. Since he reported this he has had doctor testing and diagnosis. The reason he initially contacted Pfizer was because he started to experience visual abnormalities in his left eye, specifically a blurriness as well as what he calls, "flashing lights". He saw his regular ophthalmologist and they could not find anything wrong. He was sent to a retinal specialist that could not find anything wrong either. He was then sent to a Neuro-ophthalmologist and the neuro ophthalmologist was able to confirm a defect in the field of vision he was reporting. She is requesting additional testing for his symptoms. There is also some evidence that people have reported finding some correlation along with studies from the (withheld) that shows correlation with what he is experiencing.
