Symptom narrative

Around 1:50 PM Patient brought to the lab for TDaP and blood draw. He was given his TDaP in the left deltoid. then blood draw was attempted in his right arm. We were unable to get enough blood on the first stick. Patient was informed we needed to stick him again to complete the orders. He consented. After the needle was introduced but before we could collect the final vials he passed out. The physician was call to the room. Patient was slumped over and unresponsive. While attempted to elevate his legs, he started to stiffen up and slide out of the chair. Physician and nurse eased him gently to the floor, at which point he came to. He was pale and diaphoretic and tachycardic but he was alert and oriented and remembered the blood draw. He denied SOB or chest pain. Noted feeling fatigued and tingling. He was allowed to rest on the floor with legs elevated and given a bottle of water and chips. After about 30 min he was still feeling fatigued but able to get up and walk to an exam room to lay down. After about another 30 min he was feeling better and sitting up. Repeat BP: 119/84. Patient felt better and able to drive home. Walked around clinic with no issues.
