Symptom narrative

Within 2 hours, developed shaking chills. Another hour or so, spiked a fever. I?d been seen in the Dr office that day for what was believed to be a hemorrhoid and was told to call if I developed shaking chills/fever, so I called. Dr believed I could have developed an infection at the hemorrhoid site and it could have entered the blood, so I was sent to the ER for a septic work up. On the way to the ER, I developed nausea. On arriving at the ER, I developed a stiff neck (unable to move in the direction of chin to chest) combined with a severe headache and light sensitivity (I wore my sunglasses indoors). While I was reporting these symptoms, providers were very focused on the possibility of bacteremia and were not looking for meningitis. I believe I developed meningitis.
