Symptom narrative

Patient described right arm where vaccinated was "swollen, warm to touch, painful to touch, slightly itchy and pink/red like a fine rash looking and seems like it is spreading". Patient had shared photos and drew line around erythema noted. Provider recommended at home treatment of NSAIDS, antihistamine, and icing -- requested update on whether redness has spread beyond red line. Patient reported that it had spread 1 cm past. Patient advised that was likely a site reaction from the vaccine itself and her body's immune response; not likely to be cellulitis. If symptoms worsened it 24 hours, may consider antibiotics or steroids. Updated next day and informed that area was still sore, itchy, and warm to touch. Erythema spreading a little but not as red. Provider recommended a steroid and continued NSAIDS and antihistamines. Patient responded two days later that area is getting better; less swollen and itchy.
