Symptom narrative

On 11/14/25 patient was seen in the clinic and received the Boostrix and Menquadfi vaccines. He reports he went home and went to bed early due to right arm pain. When he woke up the next morning, his parents brought him to the ER (11/15/26) for facial swelling. Based on chart review and patient report, he was observed in the ER for a period of time without treatment and it was determined he was stable for discharge. He was discharged home with prescriptions for prednisolone and diphenhydramine. His parents report he took an allergy medication for 2 days. He reports the facial swelling resolved the next day (11/16/25) and his right arm pain resolved over the next few days. In December, he presented to the clinic for an HPV vaccination and this reaction was discovered based on chart review. Per chart review and patient/family report of the event, an Arthus type hypersensitivity reaction is suspected.
