Symptom narrative

i had the pt wait around for 15 minutes due to her medical history of autonomic dysfunction and pots. approximately 15 minutes after vaccine, we checked on the patient. she explained she was having some changes in her breathing and that her throat was feeling a little bit swollen. after a few more minutes, her tongue was starting to go numb, she was having nausea, and hot flashes. i offered the patient Benadryl and tried to get her to take it while here that way we could closely monitor her. she told me that she wanted to buy her own Benadryl and go home. that she would call 911 if she started noticing symptoms of anaphylaxis. i asked if she had an EpiPen, she responded that she did not, but that she only had gone into anaphylaxis once over an antibiotic. she said her symptoms were manageable. she left against my advice.
