Symptom narrative

patient had an episode of vasovagal syncope with paleness, diaphoresis, and shaking right after she received her flu and MenB vaccinations today. She had a brief period of LOC and did not have head strike; nursing staff was present in room while it occurred. She was observed in clinic for 45 mins following the event and returned to baseline with juice, water, and food. Blood pressure was stable and she was mentating appropriately. This is the first time she has had this reaction to vaccinations; likely due to not having breakfast and staying up late last night. Recommended continued hydration and supportive care at home.
