suspected vaccination failure; got shingles a year later/crazy weird itch around my eyebrow, temple, and up into my hairline; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. On an unknown date, the patient received Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, 1 year after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant) and facial herpes zoster (Verbatim: got shingles a year later/crazy weird itch around my eyebrow, temple, and up into my hairline). The outcome of the vaccination failure was not reported and the outcome of the facial herpes zoster was resolving. It was unknown if the reporter considered the vaccination failure and facial herpes zoster to be related to Shingles vaccine. The patient had shingles a year later, even though he/she had taken the vaccine. The patient was just getting over them in the same spot, except his/her eye was not affected. The patient still had that crazy, weird itch around his/her eyebrow, temple, and up into his/her hairline. It was still incredibly uncomfortable to wear a hat because it seemed to make it worse. Luckily, the patient's eyes were not affected, but he/she did see an eye physician for an exam just in case. It definitely sucked, and patient believed that he/she had a mild case compared to what some people got. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding completion of primary schedule and laboratory confirmation regarding facial herpes zoster were unknown at the time of reporting.
