Symptom narrative

Shingrix - small pox vaccine scar swelled up after shingrix vaccination; This non-serious case was reported by a physician via call center representative and described the occurrence of skin swelling in a male patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included smallpox. In OCT-2025, the patient received the 1st dose of Shingrix. On an unknown date, between 1 and 2 months after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced skin swelling (Verbatim: Shingrix - small pox vaccine scar swelled up after shingrix vaccination). The outcome of the skin swelling was unknown. It was unknown if the reporter considered the skin swelling to be related to Shingrix. It was unknown if the company considered the skin swelling to be related to Shingrix. Additional Information: GSK Receipt Date: 05-DEC-2025 The reporter mentioned that the patient (doctor) received the Shingrix vaccine approximately 2 months ago, the patient noticed that the smallpox vaccine scar swelled up and was wondering if there was a connection. The batch number was not provided upon follow- up with the reporter.
