Tinnitus Received TDap vaccine last week and experienced immediate tinnitus. Primarily c/o tinnitus in left ear with diminished hearing and discomfort. 44 y.o. male presenting to urgent care for tinnitus. Patient is overall looking well, nontoxic, vital signs within normal limits. Persistent bilateral tinnitus, more pronounced in the left ear, with onset following recent Tdap vaccination. Tympanic membranes and external canals appear unremarkable, no evidence of infection or fluid behind the drums. Recommended intranasal corticosteroid spray (Flonase) and over-the-counter decongestants (Sudafed) to alleviate possible Eustachian tube dysfunction. Prescribed an oral steroid taper. Also placed ENT referral. Patient was agreeable with this plan of care, had no further questions, and discharged in stable condition.
