Symptom narrative

Within 36 hours, I developed a rash identified and treated as "shingles" at the urgent care on 11/23/25. I was treated with a 10-day course of valcyclovir and provided gabapentin. It produced the classic blisters (with a dark brown point in the center of each one). The blisters crusted over by day 11. The area under my armpit, on my left bicep (rash locale), back just below my armpit (rash locale), and left side of my chest itched and was painful to the touch for almost 3 weeks. My arm felt as if I'd hit my "not-so" funny bone for almost 3 weeks. I currently still have the rash visible, though it is in the healing stages; there is still some tenderness to touch throughout the region affected, with numbness in the areas where the rash presented.
