Symptom narrative

Approximately two weeks following the 1st dose of the Pfizer COVID vaccine, I developed what presented as a head cold. The symptoms lasted approximately six months, did not respond to the medications (antibiotics, steroids, inhaler) prescribed over the numerous urgent care visits, and ultimately developed into Bronchitis in May 2022. At the recommendation of urgent care, on 2 June 2022, I went to an ENT specialist, at which time a scope of my sinuses revealed a significant amount mucus in the sinuses but nothing structurally of concern. Shortly after this ENT appointment, my symptoms began to subside. Approximately 6 months later, in December 2022, I began to experience the same cold-like symptoms as I experienced in November 2021. Around the same time, on 12 December 2022, I went to her first OBGYN appointment related to the pregnancy of my second child. Testing of my urine at this and subsequent appointments revealed protein in my urine, prompting a referral to a Nephrologist. On 1 February 2023, I saw a Nephrologist who ordered bloodwork, which revealed positive markers for the ANCA titer. On 22 March 2023, I had my first appointment with a Rheumatologist who stated my symptoms indicated I likely had ANCA Vasculitis but would need to wait until after the delivery of my child before they could medically confirm the diagnosis via a biopsy and begin treatment. On 3 October 2023, a biopsy of my kidney confirmed the diagnosis of Vasculitis and permanent damage to my kidneys. On 13 October 2023, I began receiving treatment which included a high dose of Prednisone, Rituximab infusions, Lisinopril, and Tavenos. I received this treatment for over a year before the disease was controlled enough to transition off the above-listed medications and on to Azathioprine. In May 2025, a sinus infection resulted in Pneumonia. Follow up imagining revealed, as a result of the Pneumonia, scarring on my lungs. In September and October 2025, sinus issues resulted in undergoing sinus surgery and ear tube surgery.
