Symptom narrative

Influenza vaccine administered on 10/31/2025 by a peer RN in the affected caregiver's department. Caregiver states that the needle did not hurt while being inserted, however there was "an intense pain as it was being injected". Other symptoms reported by the caregiver in the following weeks included "...constant dull pain in the shoulder that is bearable. Certain movements cause intense pain. I have limited movement, the pain radiates down my arm, and I have periods of numbness/tingling in my pointer and middle fingers". She reported these symptoms to her manager on 12/2, who filed an incident report which informed the hospital's Employee Health department, on 12/2/2025. She also reports that she "called in sick and went to my doctor on November 26th. He prescribed Prednisone and Tylenol 3 with ultrasound therapy." Caregiver was provided with information about our internal process for Worker's compensation and injury reporting. EH will continue the caregiver and follow her recovery as appropriate.
