Symptom narrative

Delayed injection site/cutaneous hypersensitivity reaction: 10 yo female patient that had an localized cutaneous reaction of upper arm following IM flu vaccine. She initially had an injection site reaction (pain and swelling) about 10 hours after her flu vaccine on 11/21/2025, on 11/22/25 mother had child apply cold pack/ice to the site. The following day 11/23/25 her mother noted that child's skin appeared discolored around the injection site (describes the color as greenish). About 1 week later (11/28/25) the area became pruritic, dry and started scaling. I can send a picture from her clinic visit on 12/5/25, 2 weeks after her flu vaccine, if needed. Area was pruritic but reported no pain. This was her first flu vaccine since her initial series of 2 flu vaccines in 2016. Child has never had a vaccine reaction prior and has no known allergies. Mother had a similar vaccine reaction in the past (cannot remember which vaccine).
