problem with his eyes/blind in both eyes; every 4 months he gets Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine; This is a spontaneous report received from a Consumer or other non HCP. A 77-year-old male patient received BNT162b2 (BNT162B2 NOS), as dose number unknown, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) for covid-19 immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history included: "Bladder cancer" (unspecified if ongoing), notes: Bladder cancer just diagnosed probably less than 1 year ago; "diabetes type 2" (unspecified if ongoing); "cataract surgery" (unspecified if ongoing). Concomitant medication(s) included: OZEMPIC; ALPRAZOLAM. Vaccination history included: Bnt162b2 (DOSE 1), for covid-19 immunization. The following information was reported: BLINDNESS (medically significant), outcome "recovering", described as "problem with his eyes/blind in both eyes"; INAPPROPRIATE SCHEDULE OF PRODUCT ADMINISTRATION (non-serious), outcome "unknown", described as "every 4 months he gets Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine ". The event "problem with his eyes/blind in both eyes" required physician office visit. Therapeutic measures were taken as a result of blindness. Clinical course: Has problem with his eyes. Has seen retinologist and other specialists and they have never seen anything like it. He was blind in both eyes and at one time was just one eye and then both eyes and now back on a good day he has 20/40 on one and 20/100 on another. His eyes stumped specialists. He has seen some improvement with being completely blind. States this coincides with Pfizer Covid 19 shots, he has had at least a dozen of them. Being completely blind is more inconvenient than he imagined. States he is seeing a little good. Hoping the further away from the shot he hopes it gets better. Thinks the treatment he is getting isn't right. He thinks steroids need to be involved and virals need to be involved. States he just figured out what is causing this. It matches everything wrong with his eyes. He saw the supreme ophthalmologist. He has seen 5-6 specialists in town and all said they have never seen anything like it, they are all stumped. He thought it was one of his many medications that have side effects that include blurred vision so he stopped all of those with no improvement. States every 4 months he gets Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine and it just makes sense. Bought a motorcycle about 2 years ago and was riding on the coast and went wow it was like looking through a candy wrapper and couldn't get it to clear and it got worse where he decided he can't drive a motorcycle anymore. Around Jun2025 he bought a car and then started losing the other eye so he stopped driving. On a good day he is 20/40 in his good eye. Went to a point where he was completely blind and couldn't do anything. Now he can do something things. Right eye is 20/100 at best it can be and 20/400 recently which doesn't make sense because you can't see anything at 20/200. Thinks he is about 4 months away from his last one. Wants to see if coincides with going blind. Going to try to line up the dates. Every medication has blurred vision as side effect. He eliminated 5 and still no improvement. One that was suspect was Ozempic but he started that after going blind. Stopped taking alprazolam and Ozempic for a little. Caller provided 2 other medication names he also stopped. States he is missing one. 1st Pfizer Covid 19 shot - he got one beginning of Covid. Diabetes type 2 and provider said he is good, no issues there. States he had cataract surgery 5-6 years ago both eyes. States they ruled that out, ruled out glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and everything was ruled out. The last one said there is a couple things they could do but no point because they had never seen anything like it. Replacing the cornea wouldn't be helpful as it's the front instead of the back. When read impact vaccination it lines up perfectly with this. It is extremely rare but lines up perfectly. Clarifies he has not had a cornea transplant. The information on the batch/lot number for BNT162b2 will be requested and submitted if and when received.
