Symptom narrative

Within 18-24hrs of receiving the vaccine, patient's leg became very hot, red, painful, itchy, hard/firm and swollen. The hard area was 4.5cm by 4.5cm by 48hrs. I had him evaluated virtually at 8pm on 12/5 when I first saw the leg. Virtually she said it?s hard to tell for sure if reaction vs cellulitis and told me to watch it for another 12hrs or so. The next afternoon I took him to urgent care and he was dx with cellulitis, though one provider thought it was a reaction and one thought cellulitis. So to be safe they prescribed keflex. Within 12 hours it was already getting better. He still has a hard, red and bruised looking area on his thigh, we are at day 9. It is also still itchy and a little hot. His PCP office doesn?t care to see photos and told me it?s probably not cellulitis and to discontinue antibiotics on day 5 rather than day 10 as prescribed.
