Symptom narrative

soreness at the site and no other symptoms; Location: Palmar side of the left middle finger at the MCP joint; accidental exposure to TICE BCG via superficial needlestick, slight penetration of the skin; This spontaneous report was received from a health care professional (HCP) of nurse and refers to a 42-year-old female patient (a nurse). The patient's medical history was not reported. The patient's concurrent conditions were not reported. Concomitant therapies were not reported. On an unknown date, the patient started therapy with BCG (TICE BCG LIVE) powder for intravesical suspension (lot #Z011722, expiration date: 15-JUL-2026; serial number: 103187086731) administered by intravesical route (strength, dose, and frequency were not provided) for an unknown indication. It was called regarding a needlestick workers comp issue, it was an accidental exposure to BCG (TICE BCG LIVE) via superficial needlestick, slight penetration of the skin; the patient (nurse) was reconstituting the BCG (TICE BCG LIVE) (Accidental exposure to product). When asked whether prophylaxis or any treatment was needed, the patient reported soreness at the site and no other symptoms and she immediately washed the site (reported as cold water wash) following the incident, this happened around at 19:30 on 19-NOV-2025, location: palmar side of the left middle finger at the metacarpophalangeal joint (MCP) joint (Arthralgia). It was reported that the patient had sought medical attention (occupational medicine). At the reporting time, the outcome of Arthralgia was not reported. The action taken with BCG (TICE BCG LIVE) was not reported (also reported as therapy discontinued: not applicable). The causal relationship between the event of Arthralgia and BCG (TICE BCG LIVE) was not reported.
