Symptom narrative

A bright red whole skin area was visible on her left arm where patient received Shingrix; redness in left arm; swelling in left arm; burning rash on forearm arms; itchy rash on both forearms; bumpy rash on both forearms/dotted rash; This non-serious case was reported by a pharmacist via call center representative and described the occurrence of injection site erythema in a 58-year-old female patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) (batch number FT95N, expiry date 25-APR-2027) for prophylaxis. Co-suspect products included PNEUMOCOCCAL VACCINE CONJ 20V (CRM197) (PREVNAR 20) for prophylaxis. On 31-JUL-2025, the patient received the 1st dose of Shingrix (left deltoid) and PREVNAR 20 (right deltoid). On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingrix and an unknown time after receiving PREVNAR 20, the patient experienced injection site erythema (Verbatim: A bright red whole skin area was visible on her left arm where patient received Shingrix), erythema of extremities (Verbatim: redness in left arm), swelling arm (Verbatim: swelling in left arm), burning sensation skin (Verbatim: burning rash on forearm arms), itchy rash (Verbatim: itchy rash on both forearms) and papular rash (Verbatim: bumpy rash on both forearms/dotted rash). The outcome of the injection site erythema, erythema of extremities, swelling arm, burning sensation skin, itchy rash and papular rash were resolved. The reporter considered the injection site erythema, erythema of extremities and papular rash to be related to Shingrix. It was unknown if the reporter considered the swelling arm, burning sensation skin and itchy rash to be related to Shingrix. The company considered the injection site erythema, erythema of extremities and papular rash to be related to Shingrix. It was unknown if the company considered the swelling arm, burning sensation skin and itchy rash to be related to Shingrix. ] Additional Information: GSK receipt date -5-DEC-2025 The pharmacist reported a patient was coming in for her second dose of Shingrix after receiving her first dose. The patient showed the pharmacist pictures of swelling and redness on left arm following Shingrix administration in her left deltoid that had since resolved. No pain was reported. A bright red whole skin area was visible on her left arm where patient received Shingrix. The red area on her left arm went down to back of her loose subcutaneous skin on the back of her arm. She also shared another picture of a rash on forearm of both arms that went away too. From her wrists to elbows were covered in a rash on front and back of arms and included bumps, burning, and itching. The pharmacist didn't ask the patient how many days the symptoms lasted. The pharmacist also found out that patient received Prevnar 20 shot that same day in right arm (deltoid). The reporter consented to follow up. The vaccine administration facility was the same as primary reporter.
